Teacher Training Report
INTRODUCTION
The paragraphs below summarise Ms Beli’s general summary reports while being here in Kagua
Secondary for the last six (6) weeks. During her practical teaching, the UOG trainee has being
given one Grade: 11 Accounting class (11A1) and half of Grade: 9 (A & B) Business Studies class
to accommodate for her subject loadings.
TEACHING EFFECTIVENES
As a Subject Based Supervisor for Accounting Studies, I have observed some lesson
presentations for Ms Lavina Beli. She has developed a good understanding of Lesson Plan
preparation, following the format in a sequential order. The unit outcome has been outlined in
the lessons were relevant to the students understanding.
Some areas of improvement were identified in the first Advisory Observation and I’ve identified
through post conferencing that she has improved positively.
Students were cooperative and participated effectively throughout the lesson. Interaction
between the teacher and the students were maintained. The tone of communication was loud
and clear enough from the back. Varieties of questioning techniques were applied. Different
teaching aids including blackboard, charts, objects and related materials were used for effective
lesson presentation.
After several observations for Assessment, I have noticed that Ms Beli has improved a lot
acquiring the basic skills and methods as prescribed in the Teaching Practicum Guidelines. She
has instilled confidence in lesson presentations and able to overcome challenges in her teaching
career.
EXTRA CURRICULAR DUTIES
Ms Beli has involved herself in most school organised activities. This includes, controlling &
monitoring student’s movements, RE classes, and conducting indoor assembly following fixed
time schedules. Her punctuality was effective during class times and staff briefings.
Socialisation and Public relation within the surrounding communities was rational.
BOARDING DUTIES
While being a practical Trainee Teacher, Ms Beli has been active in assisting serving teachers
while on duty. She has shown punctuality during duties. Ms Beli has shown maturity in handling
boarding duties especially during Messing duties and Morning Charges for female students.
Other areas include, conducting night studies, writing Sick leave for patients (students) for
referrals and treatment to the nearest Heath Centre was effective.
She lacks confidence in other areas such as conducting outdoor assemblies and needs
improvement.
PROFESSIONALSM
Ms Beli has maintained professionalism. She has upheld the Code of Ethics and groomed neatly
as expected in the teaching profession. It’s been evident since the beginning of the teaching
practise. She has shown maturity in the profession and I believe she will continue in her
teaching career.
CONCLUSION
As a Subject Based Supervisor, I have come to realise that Ms Beli has mastered the criteria
while actually teaching & presenting the lesson. I have observed that the methods and skills
acquired from UOG has been applied and the units/topic stipulated in the syllabus imparted
effectively as expected. She’s being punctual to her lesson presentation with lots of efforts and
confidence.
Her involvement in the daily school operational activity is satisfactory. She has effectively
assisted the serving teachers to supervise and control student behaviour. Her character and
public relation(PR) is admirable.
The students have enjoyed having her as a subject teacher for the last six (6) weeks and I wish
her a bright future in her teaching career.
Thankyou
