-RAIN WATER SENSOR-

Done by: Abhinav

Class : 12-B
Roll no. : 2

USES OF RAIN ALARM

By adopting an underwater recharge technology and
conserving this rainwater through rainwater harvesting,
we can raise the levels of subsurface water. When used for
irrigation, it will detect rain and notify the farmer right
away. When a rain detector in a car senses rain, it
immediately activates the wipers and alerts the
driver. When it rains, it will strengthen the signal and
improve the antenna's power, allowing for signal
transmission or reception. The siren also notifies the user
of chemical rain. In industrial locations, this is extremely
typical.It is both cost-effective and user-friendly.

EXPERIMENT

AIM
To create a rain water alarm

MATERIALS REQUIRED
~Cardboard
~Ice Cream Sticks
~Hot Glue Gun
~Arduino
~Battery pack
~Breadboard
~Jumper wires
~Copper wires

CIRCUIT

WORKING PRINCIPLE

The resistance between the wires of the rain sensor will be

extremely high when there isn't any rain, and there won't
be any conduction between the wires on the sensor. The
resistance between the wires will decrease when a
raindrop contacts the sensor and creates a conductive
route. The wires on the sensor board will now begin to
conduct current. When there is water on the sensor, it will
always permit current to flow through it; otherwise, it will
stop the current flow.In order to avoid water from
remaining on the rain sensor for an extended period of
time and setting off the alarm, it should be kept 30 to 40
degrees above the ground.
PROCEDURE

1)Connect the raindrop sensor to

the Arduino as follows:

2)Connect the VCC pin of the raindrop sensor to the

5V output on the Arduino.

3)Connect the GND (Ground) pin of the sensor to the

GND on the Arduino.

4)Connect the OUT pin of the sensor to a digital pin

(e.g., D2) on the Arduino.

5)Optionally, you can use a breadboard to make these

connections more organized and secure.
6) Check if all the connections made in the circuit and the
breadboard are well connected and no exposed wires are
kept

7)Attach some electrical tape to the ends of the sensor to

avoid water damage from rainwater

8)The rain water apparatus is ready!

CONCLUSION

RAIN WATER ALARM IS MADE
