VICE CHANCELLOR’S MESSAGE
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the Centre for Nanoscience
and Nanotechnology, JMI, one of the premier central universities
of Delhi-NCR, dedicated to its vision of being known for
academic excellence and socially relevant research outcomes. We,
at JMI, are committed to developing a fraternity of competent
professionals of international standards and caliber who are
innovative, analytical, and independent.

We aim to impart knowledge to human beings to develop a human society with

wisdom. However, by the era of ICT/Internet, the role of universities has
diversified substantially. Now Universities have to fulfill their commitment in the
fast-changing environment of this era of the present millennium. Therefore,
Placement records and Placement prospects became all the more important
parameters for the success of Universities and their Departments, which need to
strengthen dynamically.

I feel proud of the Faculty of Nano Science and Nano Technology that it has been
conscious and sensitive in these matters. It has not only restructured its courses
thoroughly to incorporate the latest and the best, but also appointed a Placement
Committee led by a Professor ranked faculty member to improve placement
prospects for the current and the forthcoming batches. I am also happy to get
acquainted with dynamic leadership. The university-level placement team, led by
Prof RahelaFarooqui and Prof Sabah Khan, is also striving hard for the same goal. I
have no hesitation to state that it will bring marvelous results for the benefit of our
professional students in general and students of the Faculty of Nano Science and
Nano Technology in particular. I invite all the concerned industries to help us in
strengthening our campus placement efforts by selecting our students as
professionals, thereby giving them opportunities to contribute positively towards
their industrial goals and at the same time allowing them to grow themselves as well. I
wish them success in their future endeavors.
Prof. NAJMA AKHTAR
VICE-CHANCELLOR, JMI

PLACEMENT COORDINATOR
(CENTRE FOR NANOSCIENCE AND
NANOTECHNOLOGY)
20th century saw the birth of technological and scientific developments that
changed the world. Hundred years later, nanotechnology is similarly transforming
the world and holds the promise to solve some of the world's most pressing
problems in areas as diverse as medicine, electronic technology, and environmental
and energy crisis. The Centre's vision is to turn students into the future generation of
leadership of high technology research and industry in India to become world
leaders in the field. The M.Tech. (Nanotechnology) and Ph.D. (Nanotechnology)
programs run by our Centre not only impart advanced technological knowledge in
the field of Physics but also make one competitive at the global level. Students and
researchers of the Centre have added and given unique directions to the field. In
order to keep abreast with the advances in the field of Nanotechnology, our Centre
adds one more feather to this cap. The Centre also organizes Conferences at the
International level and extension lectures to enhance the knowledge of the students.
The M.Tech. students here are also involved in the project work in order to explore
their abilities, attain a high level of confidence, good communication skills, and the
ability to work effectively and independently in a group as well as alone. The Centre
also organizes motivational lectures for students on placement from time to time.
This gives the student an idea of how to appear in an interview and other selection
tests in the Corporate Sector.
