Europe Day is an annual
holiday of peace and unity
Ukrainian Europe Day is celebrated
every year in May. This holiday was
established by Leonid Kuchma's decree
to commemorate Ukraine's European
path and subsequent accession to the
EU.
 History of Europe Day
In 1949, on May 5, an organization of
great importance for the development of
the EU countries was founded - the
Council of Europe. This is a significant
event and became a reason for
celebration. At first, people celebrated
the foundation of the organization, but
then they turned this date into Europe
Day.
Today, when Ukraine, bleeding, is fighting
for its right to European choice and
democracy with weapons, this day takes on
a special meaning. The ideas of achieving
general peace in Europe, uniting the
peoples of Europe are more relevant than
ever, and Ukraine plays a decisive role in
these processes. So this date is important
for all of Europe.
