3042013 - SNOTE - An error occurred while saving file '...trans\tmp\XXX.SAR' on the

application server
Component: BC-UPG-NA (SAP Notes Assistant), Version: 1, Released On: 06.04.2021

Symptom
• While downloading note in transaction SNOTE, the following error message is observed:

An error occurred while saving file '...trans\tmp\XXX.SAR' on the application server

• In transaction AL11, while opening DIR_TRANS directory, the following error message is seen:

Wrong order of calls <- CALL opendir: Unknown error(,,..)

Environment
• Note Assistant tool (transaction SNOTE)
• Windows server

Reproducing the Issue

Download any note in transaction SNOTE.

Cause
The DIR_TRANS directory does not have the necessary permissions.

Resolution
1. Set up authorization for DIR_TRANS as mentioned in Note 117395 - Authorization problems for file I/O on Microsoft
Windows for OS users
2. Restart the server
