PROPOSED SOLUTION
In the dynamic landscape of modern agriculture, the quest for sustainable and
environmentally friendly practices has taken center stage. As the global population
continues to grow and the demand for food intensifies, it is imperative that we explore
innovative solutions that not only enhance crop productivity but also minimize the
ecological footprint of farming. Amidst this challenge, the often overlooked santol tree
emerges as a potential source of "green gold" – an organic fertilizer with the power to
conventional fertilizers. Native to tropical regions, the santol tree has long been
esteemed for its fruits and timber, yet its leaves, bark, and other components hold a
wealth of nutritive and agronomic benefits that still are underexplored. By investigating
posed by synthetic fertilizers, emphasizing their adverse effects on soil health, water
quality, and long-term sustainability. Section 2 delves into the diverse attributes of the
santol tree, highlighting its nutrient-rich composition and potential contributions to soil
enrichment and plant growth. In Section 3, this study will present empirical evidence
and case studies that showcase the tangible outcomes of incorporating santol-derived
organic fertilizers, ranging from improved crop yields to enhanced microbial activity in
the soil. Furthermore, Section 4 examines the broader implications of adopting santol-
based fertilizers, including their role in promoting circular economy practices and
As we embark on this journey into the realm of santol-based organic fertilizers, we are
reminded of the intricate interplay between nature's offerings and human ingenuity. By
recognizing and harnessing the hidden potential of the santol tree, we have the

C. Experimentation
Mature santol fruits will be collected and the seeds will be extracted. The seeds will be
2. Peeling
The outer skin of the santol fruits will be peeled off, and the peels are collected.
3. Grinding:
A blender or food processor will be used to finely grind the santol seeds and peels.
The ground santol seed and peel mixture will be transferred into a plastic or glass
5. Soaking:
Enough water will be poured into the container to soak the santol seed and peel
mixture.
The mixture is allowed to soak for a few days, with occasional stirring.
7. Straining:
After a few days, the liquid extract will be strained using a strainer or cheesecloth to
The liquid extract will be transferred into a spray bottle or watering can for easy
application.
A well-ventilated area will be used when handling santol seeds and peels to avoid skin
irritation.
10. Application:
The santol seed and peel fertilizer will be applied by spraying it onto pechay plant or
The researchers will wear proper laboratory attire to avoid any unexpected
circumstances such as long pants, closed shoes and laboratory coat. Safety glasses is
a must and should be worn to avoid things that can cause damages to eye. The
researchers will also wear disposable gloves as a protection from incidental contact,
and face mask to avoid inhaling toxic substances. Lastly, the researchers will be
responsible.
