The Pacific Ring of Fire

The Pacific Ring of Fire is where the Pacific plates meet many surrounding tectonic

plates. The Ring of Fire is known to be volcanic and seismically active zones where most

earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur (Tian et al., 2023). The Pacific Ring of Fire

contributes to strong tsunamis that lead to casualties and damages along the coastline.

Earthquakes and volcanoes leave behind incredible devastation; locally, many people lose

lives and affect their livelihoods because of the damage they cause, like the destruction of

homes. Globally, the Pacific Ring of Fire affects the economy because people fear visiting

areas affected by volcanoes and earthquakes. The affected individuals depend on donations to

survive. It would be a great idea to explore the Pacific Ring of Fire to learn how the plates

collide, leading to earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. The region is associated with

geothermal energy reserves, which attract communities in the Ring of Fire (Masum & Akbar,

2019). The negative impact of the Ring of Fire is that a long chain of volcanic activity is

experienced. The topic is essential to those in California because it has an active fault, the

Pacific Ring of Fire, and people have to be aware of it.
