Scenario 1:
The entrepreneur has a great innovative idea of generating a unique three-stage process to
eliminate the dust problem in the industry for years. Although many bakeries evacuate the
workers and ventilate the rooms, finding a cheap solution that would not increase the production
cost is essential. The entrepreneur’s innovative idea does not require inventing new machines but
instead using existing machines like blowers, vacuums, and filter bags. It is a process that invests
in recent technologies using available resources. The entrepreneur has only the IP type that is
relevant to her innovative idea. A patent is the only intellectual property type relevant to the idea.
It is relevant because the process is unique and functions like no existing approaches currently
do. Also, some strategies apply to the idea, such as licensing the IP and trade secrets.
Scenario 2:
The entrepreneur has an innovative idea of uniquely shaping his tents in dolphins, bears,
and raccoons. The idea revolves around designing and outsourcing manufacturing. His idea
changed focus to what competitors focus on; his competitors focus on performance aspects. But
the entrepreneur focuses on aesthetics and fantasy shapes. The process is not unique to other
manufacturers’ processes, only specific configurations and shapes. This innovative idea uses the
available materials in the industry, similar to what other manufacturers use. The company will
change the information on its website but not its logo or trade name. Various IP types are

instruction leaflets, pattern forms, and web content. Also, some strategies apply to the idea, such
as registering industrial designs, trademarks, and copyright. Therefore, the innovative idea is an
