Skill India is an initiative of the GOI which was launched to empower the youth of the country

with skill sets which would make them more employable and productive in their work environment.
Features of skill India
1. Employability & entrepreneurship
2. Skill training in traditional type of employment (trades)
3. Skill training in new domains for employability, professional development, and career growth
4. Imparting training of international standard to the trainees
5. Branding the training programmes through Rural India Skill Hallmark
6. Providing customized need-based training programme to meet the specific requirements and
demands of individual industries.
7. Innovative content of course methodology
8. New schemes under Skill India programme: - RPL; PMKVY; SANKLAP; PM Kaushal Kendra
(PMKK); ROZGAR MELA; National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS); Craftsmen
Training Programme Scheme (CTS) etc.

10. To support weaker and disadvantage sections of society through focused outreach programmes
and targeted skill development activities.
