ERAVAP – Vapor Pressure Tester
Turning on the analyzer
Position the analyzer properly on the bench and connect
the outlet tube and the waste container to the left-hand
side of the analyzer. After connecting the power cable to
the back panel of the analyzer, press the main power
switch.
The analyzer will load the firmware. During this process,
the LED on the front will flash. The loading takes
approximately 15 seconds. After loading, the analyzer will
automatically display the measurement menu:
Measurement settings
Choose the “Standard”, the “Sample ID”, the “Operator”
name and the number of measurements (“No. Meas”) by
using the drop down lists.
Be aware that for several standard methods the sample
has to be prepared (e.g. chilled and air saturated). This
prepared state may change if the sample is kept under
ambient temperature longer than necessary.
ASTM D5191 (EN 13016-1)
If you choose the standard method ASTM D5191, the test
temperature is automatically set to 37.8°C (100°F) and
cannot be changed.
ASTM D6378
If you choose the standard method ASTM D6378, the test
temperature can be changed as well, but the DVPE
formula is valid for test temperatures at 37.8°C (100°F)
only.

Starting the measurement
Connect the Luer with the tube to the inlet of the tester
and put the tube into your sample.
After having entered all settings, the measurement can be
started by pressing the “RUN” button (either on the display
or via the button below the “RUN” sign on the display).
If additional rinsing of the measuring cell is desired, press
the “RINSE” button before starting the measurement with
“RUN”.
As soon as the measurement is started, the screen
changes from the settings to the measurement screen.
This screen provides information about the status of the
measurement including information about the actual
temperature and pressure inside the measurement cell.
The entire measurement is fully automated and takes
approximately 5 minutes for a vapor pressure
measurement of gasoline at 37.8°C (100°F) according to
ASTM D5191.
When the measurement
is finished, the result is
displayed on the
measurement screen.
At the same time the
result is also saved in the
result memory.
Press “OK” to return to
the settings of the
measurement screen to
start the next
measurement.
Results menu
The results are stored directly in the “Results” menu and
can be viewed and compared there.
The results are shown for one method only. Change the
method to view the corresponding results.
Print results
Select the results to be printed by the line number and
then press the “Print” button.
The selected results are printed (for printer selection and
configuration see the “System” menu).
For a form feed press the “Page” button.
Save results on USB memory stick
For saving all the results connect a USB memory stick and
wait a few seconds. The memory stick is automatically
mounted. Pressing the “Save” button all results from all
standard methods are stored.
