1.1 Project
1.2 Purpose
This calculation report is aimed to determine the sizing of LVDC Cable in PV area,
1.3 Methodology
2) The minimum cable sizing shall be based upon a overcurrent rating from
Table 5, IEC 62548:2016.
System frequency = 50 Hz
Voltage level of LVDC cable = DC 1.5 kV
Copper 1Cx6 sqmm solar cable are proposed to be used, and the following
parameters are obtained from IEC 60228:
DC resistance of conductor at 20°C = 3.390 Ω/km
Temperature coefficient of electrical resistivity = 0.00393 1/K
Normal operating temperature of conductor = 75 °C
DC resistance of conductor at 75°C = 4.123 Ω/km
Copper 1Cx4 sqmm solar cable are proposed to be used, and the following
parameters are obtained from IEC 60228:
DC resistance of conductor at 20°C = 5.090 Ω/km
Temperature coefficient of electrical resistivity = 0.00393 1/K
Normal operating temperature of conductor = 75 °C
DC resistance of conductor at 75°C = 6.190 Ω/km
