Executive Summary

Oriental Dragon Chinese Restaurant is a joint initiative undertaken by form four and five
students of Cunupia Secondary School. We started our business in September 2022 for
the school’s Restaurant for A Day fund raiser. We have one goal in mind: providing an
enjoyable dining experience to members of our school community and its various
stakeholders. Our mission is to provide dishes that are fresh, hearty, and simply
unforgettable.
At Oriental Dragon Chinese Restaurant we welcome all our guests with our catchy Jingle
“"Come on in and join the bandwagon, because the best restaurant here is Oriental
Dragon"

Operational Analysis

Oriental Dragon Chinese Restaurant is a one-of-a-kind Asian dining establishment with a menu
inspired by the idea of simple and honest cooking. We aim to create a warm and inviting
atmosphere for our guests to dine in or for those in the hurry, a quick take-out service.

We developed a unique dining experience for all our guests using fresh and sustainable
ingredients—taking you on a culinary journey like no other at an affordable price.

A Special Three Course Meal was specifically designed to stimulate the taste buds of our
cherished dine in guests, to create the ultimate Oriental Dragon Fine Dining Experience. As part
of our Premium All-Inclusive Package priced at $50.00, it will grant our dine in Guests access to
an appetizer, our full main entrée and a heavenly dessert. This exclusiveness is what sets our
restaurant apart from the rest.

What also distinguishes us from our competitors is the fact that we have invested heavily on
online platforms to make ordering easier and quicker for our clients. Our visitors can order using

Our Menu is as follows:
Market Analysis

Our market comprises mainly of students, staff, parents, and members of the community. This is
wide demographic of over 1000 people. To reach such a large audience, demographic
segmentation was used to pinpoint a specific Target market, which in our case were students and
staff. Based on research, many of our potential clients are highly reliant and proficient using
technology and social media platforms.
Our marketing concept was simple. We needed to make our services available and easily
accessible online. This led to a creation of a number of tools to meet our clients demand. The IT
team created a website and Instagram account, where our advertisements could meet a wider
audience. We also added a section on the website where customers can order online and make
reservations in advance. The Instagram page also facilitates the ordering of items on the menu.

Other Marketing/ Promotional strategies to be used to generate sales and awareness of the
restaurant were:
 The official Promotional Launch of the Restaurant on Thursday 13th November 2022
through a video advertisement and product sampling. This will also be shared on its
various social media platforms.
 The Use of a Competition to share, like and comment on our Instagram Page, to reach a
larger target audience. The winner would a free dine in meal for the winner.
 The Use of flyers around the school and community.
Our pricing strategy was based on providing our customers with meals at an affordable price.
Research showed from interviews with students that the average price they are willing to pay for
a meal was $25. Some students were also receptive to the idea of exclusivity and were willing to
pay up to $50.00 for an all-inclusive experience.
