Units 1–4

Dictation is a great way to practise language (vocabulary and grammar ) and skills (listening
and writing) in one activity. It’s challenging and really tests your ability to listen and
understand the main information.

You are going to hear a short extract from one of the tracks you listened to in Units 1–4.
You will hear it only once.

A Work in your groups. Listen and take notes on what you hear. You won’t have
time to write everything.

B Work together to write the whole text.

C Compare what you have written with the audio script of speaker 2, track 17 on page
197.
