Eukaryotes are any cell or organism that possesses a clearly defined nucleus. The eukaryotic
cell has a nuclear membrane that surrounds the nucleus, in which the well-defined
chromosomes (bodies containing the hereditary material) are located.
Prokaryotes are a microscopic single-celled organism that has neither a distinct nucleus
with a membrane nor other specialised organelles. Prokaryotes include the bacteria and
archaea and can be split into two domains, archaea and bacteria. You can see a prokaryotic
cell below.
