General Information

Executive Summary
This document is a program to help trainers train Quality users to
implement the ERN Category in Content Server.

Target Audience
The target audience for this comprehensive design document for
Content Server trainers in implementing the ERN Category within
Content Server.

Delivery Method

Why is this task performed?


Implementation of the ERN Category is crucial for the Quality
Department of XYZ Company as it is a business requirement

What are the results of performing this task?


When requested by the Quality department in XYZ company to update
existing quality documents in Content Server, quality users will fulfill
the business requirement of successfully applying the ERN metadata
category onto quality documents on their computer stations using
tools such as the “Add ERN Instructions” document within the allotted
times and achieve 100% success rate.

2. Pre-instructional, Assessment, and Follow-Through
Activities

PRE-INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES

Motivation:
Attention – Grab their attention by highlighting how Quality Auditing
is a serious matter. When the auditors find that documents cannot be
searched, the whole plant is placed under an (A) Initial warning (B)
Probational Warning (C) Final Warning (D) Notice to Managers and
Compliance team for Lack of Compliance.
Relevance - Show relevance with positive encouragement – by
talking about how frustrating it is must be to search for a document

among 4 million documents only because someone didn’t apply the
ERN category.
Confidence – Encourage users that since they have been using
content server and have all applied other categories, to learn this
category will be very easy.
Satisfaction – This satisfies the business requirement. Point out that
this will make searching for documents much easier in the future.

Objectives: Inform the users that the class objectives are the
aforementioned four. By following these strategies, not only will they
be able to successfully apply the category but also need to fulfill
these tasks during the test/assessments within the correct time in
order to pass.

Entry Skills: Remind users that they should have a workspace


number ready and remind them they should already be a content
server user and familiar with the general layout and know how to use
a stopwatch.

Student Groupings and Media Selection:


Individualized Learning.
Students will be alone and follow instructions from a written eguide
and have a stop watch.

ASSESSMENT

Pretest:
Test them with a short pretest on what content server is, and what
categories are. See below in Instructional Materials

Practice Tests:

Practice Tests will be in 3 phases – find at end of the document


Following instructions at their own pace and familiarizing themselves
with the steps and show hands for affirmative to instructor when
they have completed each step successfully
Using a timer being able to finish applying the category within the
given time frame.
Students will be shown the post test observation and practice on it
using a stop watch.

Posttest: Students will have to be manually observed by the

instructor and apply the steps correctly within the given time for
pass/fail. The assessment is at the end of the document.

be live observed via the post assessment and with stopwatch

FOLLOW-THROUGH ACTIVITIES

Memory Aids: There is no specific need for a user to retrieve from


memory. However, the Eguide will be a JOB AID that can help users
in the future.

Transfer: The performance context will be the same. Users will use
Content Server and follow the eguide if need be.

Student Groupings and Media Selection: Although students are


working individually, students can use the work chat Skype to
communicate with other students and the instructor as well for
questions.

C. Content Presentation and Learner Participation

Objective 1: Log into Content Server using SSO

CONTENT PRESENTATION

Content: Opening up Content Server and logging in using Single Sign


on. At this point, students should already be able to get into Content
Server without any issues and with no need for outside help

Examples: Have Content Server Hyperlink included for users to type


into search bar if need be

Content: Search for a quality pdf located under a quality folder by


searching for the workspace number and sorting results in Content
Server search and distinguishing the correct document from the rest
of the documents.

image of the search results.

Locate the saved link for Content Server
Log onto Content Server using SSO and not manually logging on
Locate the Quality Folder area blue icon in the landing page and
click into it within 10 seconds without need for help from supervisor
or colleague
Have a workspace number ready
Type/Copy the number into the Content Server search bar
Wait for results to load
Sort the results and determine the correct quality workspace folder
and click into it
