My name is Aigerim Seidanova and I am writing in application for a scholarship to assist me throughout my time

studying in the MSc Finance program at the Carlos III University of Madrid.

It is a cliché to say that I have always known what I want to do with my life, but in my case, it happens to be true
now. When I started specific subjects at school, I become passionate about math as well as humanitarian subjects.
I was always searching for the field I am best for. Moreover, I understand that nowadays, it is important to pay
attention on the competitiveness of the job specialization on the market and look at future career perspectives. I
am sure that the fields I am learning now and I want to learn at your university are very important fields, and will
enormously influence human’s life in future as well as they are extremely needed today.

When asked, the first qualities that I can tell about myself are hardworking and perseverance. These are the
qualities I showed throughout my studies as well as in every personal situation I have. The story started when after
6th year of middle school, I wanted to apply to one of the best high schools in my country-Kazakh Turkish high
school in my hometown. It had very strict application process and due to very high demand, it was not easy to pass
exam and enroll. However, I passed successfully despite several challenges I had on that period and I think it was
the best choice and luck in my life as I built strong academic and personal base there.

Further, the choice of the undergraduate program was very complicated as it was very important for me to earn
state scholarship because my family could not afford payments for my studies. The programs I wanted to apply
such as law and business were highly demanded and there was no guarantee of the scholarship. I believed that
deep knowledge of law is the basis for any person and, particularly, for professionals who relates career life with
business, trade and economics. Moreover, the program included attractive courses for my long-term career plans,
such as Foundations of Economics, Bank, Enterprise and Financial law and others. Therefore, the specialization was
priority for me so I started my undergraduate studies in Law at one of the best national universities of Kazakhstan
on paid basis. I studied hard and after a year, I got monthly stipend from sponsors of the university. Then, on 3rd
year, finally I earned scholarship for outstanding academic performance.

Since my studies at high school, I have spent much of my spare time learning everything there is to know about
additional opportunities to improve my knowledge and skills in law and business. As a junior high and high school
student, I attempted to read many articles from international newspapers, financial journals and keep aware of the
latest news and technologies. Whenever I heard about any event related to the fields, I was the first applying for
participation. The same was at university; I tried to actively participate extra activities and got first places in many
Olympiads and contests.

Regarding my skills in English, I got 7.0 score on IELTS and participated several essay writing contests such as
international essay contest in Japan in 2018. I understand that language is the strongest tool in both studying and
career and I always try to improve my level and learn additional languages. I passed first level in French and plan to
develop it further and I think it adds value to my future profession in finance as it is one of important languages in
finance world. In addition, I strongly believe that knowledge of several languages including Turkish will help me to
have brighter social life at your university and obtain as many international friends as possible.

While I know that your university awards scholarships to students with outstanding academic and non-academic
performances, I feel that I deserve this opportunity not only because of my professional interest and successful
academic results, but also because I plan to become a professional in demanding field and to do my best to use
skills and knowledge in many projects in my country. I truly believe that studying finance at leading university
together with my basis in law will shape my profile as a skilled financial professional with law background in
banking and business sector.

I want to be a part of the better changes and become professional in my field. In my financial market and field just
started to develop and I feel that your university is the best place to enrich my knowledge and gain valuable
experience to make me one of the figures able to make significant contribution to the field in my country. Turning
my professional dreams in reality is hardly possible without your support as a scholarship for the program and I am
sure I will use it in the most effective way. Thank you a lot for consideration of my application.
