the same sounds or words over and over? Are they echoing what has been said by someone else. This could even be delayed since the phrase was first heard. This may mean difficulty with communicating even though the child is talking.

Have you been listening and tuning in

Does your child become very frustrated
at times? If your child has trouble talking to you they may be trying to act their feelings out and are showing you how frustrated they are. Making and understanding how to communicate together is vital for both of you.
INVOLVEMENT
Are you noticing your child tend to

Are you noticing a slow response from your
child to any instructions or spoken language? This could mean your child is having trouble understanding spoken language which is known as receptive language understanding and it is important to know what level of understanding they are at. This is easy to work out.
OBSERVATIONS
Are you seeing that your child often
points or makes hand gestures or gets you instead of talking? This could be a sign that your child is finding it easier to show more and talk less. It could be an expressive language or talking problem and is easy to find out if they are not where they should be for their age.
