CONVERSION PROGRAM

Balai Besar Survei dan Pengujian Ketenagalistrikan,


Energi Baru, Terbarukan, dan Konservasi Energi (BBSP
KEBTKE), as a center for testing New and Renewable
Energy, is entrusted with the mandate to carry out the
conversion of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)
motorcycles to electric motorcycles.

BBSP KEBTKE also conducts development and


testing on the performance of converted electric
motors, batteries, and develops a business
model to make the conversion program
appealing to the public.
BACKGROUND

3. The number of motorbikes continues to increase. In 2022, the EV EFFICIENCY


number of motorized vehicles will reach 152.51 million units.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONVERSION POLICY

1. Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2019: Acceleration of the


battery-based electric motor vehicle (KBLBB) program for road
transportation
2. Presidential Instruction Number 7 of 2022: Mandated the use Battery
Electric Vehicles (BEVs) as daily operational or on-duty vehicles for
government officials across the country.
3. Minister of Transportation Regulation Number 65 of 2020: Conversion
of gasoline motorcycles into battery-based electric motorcycle.

motor vehicle
5. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 1 of
2023: Mandates concerning the provision of electric charging
infrastructure for battery-based electric motor vehicles (SPKLU and
SPBKLU)
