V. Experiences and Future Plans

1. How did you know about TESDA?
SICAT-TESDA had a free training program in cooperation with the LGU-JONES held in our
municipality.

2. What is/are your reason(s) for enrolling in Tech-Voc course?

I believe that an undergraduate like me can have additional skills to find a job or start a
business with the help of the trainings offered by TESDA.

3.Please share with us your experiences to prove your worth and go against the usual discrimination
against tech-voc graduates.
I am not a degree holder so it is difficult for me to find a job. Until i knew the Tech-Voc courses. I
tried to study again I believe with TESDA training I can also find a job. And I am grateful because
after the trainings I attended at SICAT-TESDA, I was able to get a job/business right away. And since I
already have a livelihood, I am even more determined to train more. And I don't have to wait to be
hired because with the help of SICAT-TESDA, I am already earning. I turned from nothing into
something.

4. How did you training/course help you achieve your current economic status. Especially at SICAT .

Right after my training in Beauty Care (Nail Care) Services NC II in 2019,

It became my source of income, until this pandemic came, everyone was stuck, even professionals
stuck at work. Here, I realized that this shouldn't be the only work I knew. So when SICAT-TESDA had
free training again, i enrolled to Bread and Pastry Production NC II, after few months of training we
had another lockdown in our municipality, home services were banned, fortunately I did BPP NC II, I
cooked something that could be sold, and here is another one of my sources. Although home
services is not allowed, I still make money by selling cupcakes, cakes, native cake and my best seller
"kutsinta with yema dip" it makes people recognized me.
In the midst of this pandemic, i am still making money and I didn't have to venture out of the
house.

5. What are your future plans relative to your career, education and business( if any)

I'm planning to build my own salon and bakeshop. And when than grows, I also want to have a
training center in our municipality to help those who can't afford to go to college.

6. What has been your contribution to your community?

I kept on encouraging those like me who have not completed a degree course to engage
themselves in TESDA trainings because it is a huge help in getting a job or business.
