2.0 Considerations for Contingency
Road Repair Program
1. All the work plan is based on visual inspection and assessment of the work is based on experience – details
investigation and testing will be required to confirm the repair method and may result in difference repair method
selected
2. Maintenance of traffic can require traffic detour, installation of concrete barriers, signaling, etc., that may result in
additional cost
3. Extent of damage may increase from now to the time of the work
4. The region is experiencing a rapid growth in construction which will affect the availability of raw material and its
cost
5. Current asphalt damage on roads under guaranty is not necessarily covered by the guaranty as the root cause of
the damage my be below the work of the Contractor – area to be repaired under the future contract may have to be
increased to encompass this work

Road Repair Program
The work described in previous sections is related to major repair work. In addition, and as per work orders to be
provided, the maintenance contractor is expected to perform:
1. Cleaning of the road due to accidents, etc.,
2. Cleaning of the drainage system to remove debris, dust and sand, make sure the system works fine and repairs
any minor defects and provide additional equipment during heavy rain to prevent flooding of the road
3. Cleaning the bridge for dust and debris
4. Repair local damage to concrete barriers, steel guardrail, fence, attenuator, resulting from accidents or local
deterioration
5. Repair local damage in asphalts such as potholes, local cracks, etc.,
6. Repair/replace of road furniture, signs, signals, gantries
7. Repair locally fence, curb, etc.,
8. Execute urgent work to stabilize a critical situation such as soil settlement before a permanent solution is
defined
9. Inspect regularly as per Engineer’s request
