Delta Star for Three Phase Transformer
Objectives:
▪ To verify the relationship between voltages and currents in a three-phase transformer for
Star Delta Connection. It must use a fundamental law of electrical engineering. Such that
students may take measurements using electrical instruments and get in depth knowledge
of physical phenomenon. Students should perform lab and submit its report within a week.

MATLAB Module:

Figure 15.3 – Y-D Grounding Transformer

Procedure:
1. Open Simulink and create a new model. Drag and drop the necessary Simulink blocks from the
Simulink Library.
2. Add three-phase voltage sources to represent the primary and secondary side of the transformer.
Configure the voltage sources with appropriate magnitude and phase.
3. Use the “Three- Phase Transformer” block from the Simulink Power System library. Configure the
turns ratio and other parameters.
4. Add measurement blocks like “Voltage Measurement” and “Current Measurement” to monitor
primary and secondary side quantities.
5. Include Loads on the secondary side to represent connected equipment.
6. Place scope blocks to visualize the voltage and current waveforms on both sides of the
transformer.
7. Set simulation parameters, such as the simulation time, solver type, and stop time, to suit
your analysis.
8. Run the simulation and observe the voltage and current waveforms at both the primary and
secondary sides.

Results:
▪ Secondary Voltage and Current:

▪ Primary Voltage and Current:
