Name: ______________________________________________ Date: ________________________
Group No. and Section:___________________ Score: ______ Parent’s Signature: _____________

Objective:
Through interactive activities, the students should be able to:
a. state the theory of continental drift; and
b. describe the first two lines of evidence that support the theory of continental drift.

Materials:
 Cutouts of continents
 Ballpen
 Glue/tape
 Bond paper
 Marker
 Present-day map

Procedure:
1. The group will be given cutouts of continents.
2. Put together the cutouts on a coupon bond using glue.
3. Once completed, examine how the cutouts were put together and compare it to the present-day
map.
4. Answer the guide questions based on your observations.

Guide Questions:
1. Were you able to piece the continents together? (Napagdikit-dikit niyo ba ang iba’t-ibang
mga kontinente?)

2. When you pieced the continents together, what did you notice? Were the cutouts fit for each
other? Nagtugma at

3. What feature of the continents helped you to connect the pieces together? (Anong katangian

4. On what object or toy can you compare the continents with that you joined together?

5. Based on your previous answers, how did the matching of continents help in confirming that
the continents were once connected?

Through interactive activities, the students should be able to:
a. state the theory of continental drift;
b. describe the first two lines of evidence that support the theory of continental drift.
Materials:
 Present-day map
 Stickers of fossils
 Bond paper
 Marker
Procedure:
1. You will be provided with a picture of the continents and stickers of fossils.
2. Your task is to put the stickers of fossils on the continents where it once lived. Your clue will be the
colors designated to each continent and fossil.
3. Once completed, examine how the fossils of animals and plants were distributed across the
continents.
4. Answer the guide questions.

Guide Questions:

1. Were there fossils in the different continents?
kotinente?)

2. Are the fossils isolated in only one specific continent or are they also found in other
continents?

3. Were there fossils of the same kind/species in different continents?

4. If the continents in the modern-day map are apart from each other, what do the fossils of
animals and plants tell us about the continents millions of years ago?
