Objectives: -Define Triplets -Describe purpose of a steady beat -Explain the purpose of a meter sign -Recognize and perform rhythm patterns that include triplets ⁃12345678 thing with singing ⁃Da Ba game: students stand in a circle, teacher plays some sort of beat and the students say da and ba back and forth going in order of the circle, of they get it wrong they sit. ⁃teacher gives very clear instructions ⁃use pvc pipes to hit the floor and practice rhythms while saying them ⁃if the students are doing something they aren’t supposed to let them try once then say thats enough ⁃teacher makes normal things like putting things back into a musical activity ⁃calling time signature a “meter sign” ⁃The triplet song !!! ⁃line up at end of class to exit, while lined up ask “what did you learn today” and have the students give their answers
8th Grade Keyboard Lesson 1
Objectives: -name at least two types of keyboards and describe how they might be used -Recall at least one skill that could be acquired while learning at keyboard instrument -locate and play middle C on the keyboard ⁃warm up Da Ba game ⁃Bandlab ⁃ask three before me ⁃prompt a question and says “turn and talk” they talk to each other about the answers before getting the answer from the teacher ⁃discuss goals for next class
