TOPIC: Management Theories

LESSON OVERVIEW: Management Theories are a collection of ideas that recommend general rules for how to manage
an organization or business. They address how supervisors implement strategies to accomplish organizational goals and
how they motivate employees to perform at their highest ability.

LEARNING OUTCOMES AND STANDARDS:


 Content standards: The learners have an understanding of the different management theories.
 Learning targets:
At the end of the lesson, the learners shall be able to;
1. discuss the different management theories,
2. enumerate the major approach to management theory,
3. Identify the major contributors in each management theory.
1. Performance Standard: The learners shall be able to apply learning of management theory in managing
business.
2. Value standards: Help organization to focus, communicate and evolve.

LESSON STRUCTURE:
I. Engage:
Motivation: The teacher will ask the students to understand and share their understanding about the topic.
II. Explore: Discussing the different Management Theories.
III. Explain: The Teacher will discuss and enumerate the major management theory.
IV. Elaborate: Read and understand the idea of each Management Theories.
V. Evaluate: The learners will make a summary of our lesson.

REFLECTION: In this lesson, it helps learners in ensuring an organization operates efficiently and effectively, to
implement the best management practice in context of their organizations. Knowledge on management theories can
broaden a manager’s competence in management.
