    Teacher Instructions
    Print on thick card for durability. Cut out each
    card and hole punch in the black dot for the
    linking hooks. Provide links/hooks that students
    can connect together like a chain. Students will
    count the sounds in the word and connect links
    together to represent number of sounds. To make
    this a self-checking activity, write correct number
    on back of card.

    Student Directions
    Look at the picture. Say and count the number of
    sounds you hear. Use the links to connect the
    number of sounds together. Thread through the
    whole on the card.
