CHAPTER 1: EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The community service report shall have only a one-page executive summary. It shall
include a brief description of the Community and summary of all the activities done by
the student in CSP and five or more learning objectives and outcomes.

Major problems that today's society and our surrounding are facings are listed below, there
are many problems that are to be addressed but the problem that can be addressed and has to
be solved as soon as possible.

I tried to analyze some problems . The energy and time it took was addressable but the results
it showed was of great significance. As an individual my opinion to the society is work in
groups, work alone but your little efforts to the goodness of the society will bring a drastic
change in the society as well as in the minds of the Neighbour and colleague. Which will
further promote wellness of the nation and the world we live in.

i have focused on a problem. In our community we have many local parks where the people
of any age (from children to elderly people) go to play, exercise, walk and other. The local
parks are being polluted and management is poor. So, we came across to do a survey on local
parks in our community and analyze the problems.

The ways by which i have analyzed problem are:

 Visiting local parks
 Surveying the people
 Noting the problems faced by the people
 Observing the surrounding of the park
 Promoting the cleanliness in the park
CHAPTER 2: OVERVIEW OF THE COMMUNITY

 About the Community/Village/Habitation including historical profile of the

community/habitation, community diversity, traditions, ethics and values.

 Brief note on Socio-Economic conditions of the Community/Habitation.

Kurnool is a city in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. It formerly served as the capital of
Andhra State (1953–1956). The city is often referred to as "The Gateway of Rayalaseema". It
also serves as the district headquarters of its Kurnool district. As of 2011 census, it is the fifth
most populous city in the state with a population of 484,327.[3][5] It is located on the banks
of the Tungabhadra river. Although the area has been inhabited for thousands of years,
modern Kurnool was founded in the 16th century CE with the construction of the
Konda Reddy Fort.

The Ketavaram[9] rock paintings from the Paleolithic era and are (18 kilometres from
Kurnool). Also the Jurreru Valley, Katavani Kunta[10] and Yaganti in Kurnool District have
some important rock art and paintings in the vicinity, may be dated from 35,000 to
40,000 years ago.

Culture & Heritage

Konda Reddy Buruju:
Konda Reddy Buruju is located in the heart of Kurnool & believed to be built by the Raja’s of
Vijayanagaram. It was a part of Kurnool fort & was used as a prison. One revolutionary
Konda Reddy attained martyrdom in this prison. Since then the place is known as
KondaReddy Buruju.

Abdul Wahab Khan Tomb (Golgumbaz), Kurnool:

Abdul Wahab Khan was the first bijapur Governor at Kurnool. His remains were buried
under this imposing structure which is ideally situated on the banks of hundri river, and was
built in hjijiri 1028 (1618 A.D) this beautiful edifice with its domes and arches is much
admired.
The builders of this structure used a few beams in stone and it may be presumed had wooden
centering and then arranged chiseled stones using special kind of lime with jaggary. The
builders of this gumbaz used arches to bear and sustain the load of the super structure.

Gumbaz to denote the dome structure is a fine place of mughal architecture and deserves a
study by persons having interest in the field.
CHAPTER 3: COMMUNITY SERVICE PART

Description of the Activities undertaken in the Community during the Community

Service Project. This part could end by reflecting on what kind of values, life skills, and
technical skills the student acquired.

ACTIVITIES:

i. Surveying Local Parks

Before you decide how to improve parks in your community, you need to think about their
overall view near the parks. Believe it or not, the layout of your neighbourhood park is just as
important as what’s inside.

It’s essential to ensure park visitors have sample space to commune and be active. They
should also have access to quiet, comfortable areas to rest, observe, and reflect. When
improving your community park, consider business meetings and other structured events that
may require quieter areas. That way, members can hear one another and engage in thoughtful
conversation.

i investigated park management and park facilities to see if people were benefiting from the
park's schemes and arrangements. I’ve conducted a survey of park visitors to determine
whether any changes or implementations should be made in the parks. Noting down the park
facilities and any further ideas for improvement ideas proposed by the team members.I have
found the some problems :

 Waste Management

 Maintenance (equipment/cleaning)

 Stagnate Water
ii. Cleaning up Local parks

I have selected some of the local parks in our community to clean up the local parks. I
did my best to clean the parks. Some of us took part in cleaning, some on stagnant water, the
rest on the surroundings of the park.

A Local Park Near Tungabhadra River, N R Peta, Kurnool

Surrounding of the Local Park

The people of the community are not only affected by the surroundings inside the parks, but
also the surroundings of the park. The waste in the parks is not being carried properly to the
dump yards; it is being thrown in near the surroundings of the parks. This leads to a smell
around the parks. This is being taken into account by our team.

Problem Causes

These problems are generally caused by climate change and human activities.

Natural Causes:

 Due to the climate change, the plants shed their leaves and fall on the ground. The
mosquitoes are also part of nature. To sustain their lives, they choose their best ways
to produce their generations. So, they choose the suitable climatic conditions.
 The stagnated water, which is suitable, leads to the production of more mosquitoes.
 The rain water may lead to stagnation in the park and also lead to rust on the park
equipment.

Human causes:
 The plastic wastage is thrown in to the garden area and service area in the park,
without throwing them into the dustbins.
 Not keeping the surrounding clean.

Management causes:

 The park management is not looking into the conditions and problems in the local
park not providing proper equipment for the local people to utilize the park.
 Not looking and making proper play area for the children.
 Not maintaining the proper maintenance on the plants.
 No proper benches in the park.

iii. Analysing the environment in the park

We have looked into the environment of the park to see if any problems are likely to affect
the people of the park. We came across some problems:

 Stagnate water in the water fountain

 Plastic wastage
 Leaves and Garbage

CHAPTER 6: RECOMMENDATIONS AND CONCLUSIONS OF THE MINI
PROJECT

I have definitely learned how to be more patient and be more productive. The journey from
the right beginning is deciding how we can help the community/society to be a better place.
What activities will be well suited to my surroundings Keeping all the facts in mind, we
figured out a few activities that were: surveying public parks; planting in public parks;
cleaning up local parks.

Each activity had its own challenges and an impressive outcome. The satisfaction the activity
provided me was at a different level. Helping out society truly sets a different mindset. The
day we started the project, it changed my view towards society and cleaning the society (local
parks). Seeing the park clean and tidy after I finished my work gave me a great feeling. I
planted flowery plants, which gave the public park a different look.

Apart from the parks and plantations, we promoted our ideas. Now I have many more friends
in my society to make changes in our society. I am looking forward to helping society in as
many ways as possible. As we know, small changes make a huge difference. I will even
promote the idea of community service as a general responsibility for all.

Solutions
Clean Up Trash
Parks are high-traffic areas in most cities. This means that trash is bound to show up in and
around your park and playground.
When discussing ways your family can help clean your local park, don't overlook a literal
cleanup! Picking up trash will make a huge difference in the appearance and vibe of your
park. A clean area will encourage others to keep the park pristine. When picking up trash and
debris, make sure to wear gloves to protect yourself, and put trash in appropriate receptacles
or lawn bags. You can also contact your local trash company to schedule a pickup when
you're finished.

Plant Trees
Planting trees in your park can add a lot of value to the area. Not only will trees provide
much-desired shade, they'll improve the air quality of your local park, too.
Start by researching the types of trees you should plant. Make your choices according to the
climate of your city so the trees will have the best chance of survival. When it's time to plant
them, do it in areas that could use an aesthetic boost! Ideal spots are by water features (lakes
and ponds) or around the playground and park benches. Or, pick a place where families like
to picnic, and plant trees there to provide some privacy and shelter from the sun.

Make Minor Repairs

Your park may have some minor damages that can be repaired pretty easily. Maybe the water
fountain is broken, the street lamps' lightbulbs have burned out or the swings on the
playground need new seats.
Most of the supplies that you need for these types of repairs can be found inexpensively at
your local hardware store. However, some repairs may require you to hire a professional.
Take notes on what needs to be fixed, and determine if these are simple jobs that you can do
with your family. We guarantee there are fix-it opportunities lurking all over your park -- you
just have to look for them!

Plant a Community Garden

Grow veggies with your community and share the bounty (and responsibility).
Of course, you can exercise your green thumb in other ways, too. Starting a community
garden in your park will bring bright and cheery fun for everyone to enjoy! Even better, this
will be an ongoing project that will keep the community invested in the park for years to
come.
