Research Design

This study will be used Experimental Research Design. According to (Hassan, M 2023)

Experimental design is a process of planning and conducting scientific experiments to investigate

a hypothesis or research question. It involves carefully designing an experiment that can test the

hypothesis, and controlling for other variables that may influence the results.

Experimental design typically includes identifying the variables that will be manipulated or

measured, defining the sample or population to be studied, selecting an appropriate method of

sampling, choosing a method for data collection and analysis, and determining the appropriate

statistical tests to use.

Participants of the Study

The respondents of the study will be the first-year and second-year BTVTED FSM (Food

Service Management) students, as well as the dedicated teachers of the BTVTED (Bachelor of

Technical-Vocational Teacher Education) program at ISAT-U Dumangas Campus. Stratified

Sampling by dividing the target population into subgroup and give the select student a chance to

participate as respondent. In preliminary testing will be having 15 participants that compose of

12 FSM students and 3 BTVTED teachers and same number of respondents in the final testing.

Overall, this study will be having the 30 participants in total. The subjects of this study were

asked to answer the researcher-made questioner. The evaluators were distributed in the following

table.

Data Gathering Instruments

The researchers will be using the researcher made questionnaire, the first part deals with

the profile of the respondent, the second part deals about the Appearance and Color of the

polvoron, the third part deals about the Taste and Texture of the polvoron, and the fourth part

deals with the overall acceptability of Jackfruit seeds as polvoron since the questionnaire is a

researcher made it was submitted for correction and validation of the experts. Modified data

evaluation sheet devised by the researchers were used to determine the acceptability of Jackfruit

Seeds as Polvoron in terms of aroma, color, flavor and texture.

The following criteria was employed.

Data Gathering Procedure

The study will be conducted during the school year 2023-2024, data needed for this

experimental research will be gathered using a researcher-made questioner and be evaluated

using the score sheet. A letter of request to conduct the study will be prepared including the letter

for the participants. The researchers will construct a questionnaire which will be submitted for

correction and validation of the experts, and will be validated by the subject teacher of the

subject then the questionnaire will be distributed. The researcher conducts the study in Iloilo

Science and Technology University Dumangas Campus through survey forms.

Data Gathering Techniques

Create surveys or questionnaires to collect data from potential consumers, asking them

about their preferences, opinions, and acceptability of jackfruit seed-based polvoron. Include

questions about taste, texture, aroma, and overall satisfaction. After the evaluation of the data

gathered data from the respondents it will be analyzed using the ANOVA. The data will be

determined by using the ANOVA formula.

Data Analysis Procedure

For data analysis of this study, the data gathered will be subjected to evaluate and

inferential analysis. The researchers will be using ANOVA to evaluate the mean, and median of

the data collected.

Mean. This test will be used to determine the acceptability level of Jackfruit Seeds as Polvoron.

The ANOVA test allows a comparison of more than two groups of data to determine whether a

relationship exists between them. The result of the ANOVA formula, the F statistic (also called

the F-ratio), allows for the analysis of multiple groups of data to determine the variability

between samples and within samples.
