Thank you for your reply. It is clear that the footprint of the surfaces must be controlled. Do you think this can successfully
prevent the steam leak into the atmosphere? Dp you have any experience with the application of specially designed Birkosit for
sealing surface damage of ≤ 0,2 mm?

We have used this compound and the performance is satisfactory.

What do you think about application of some kind of special technology for temporary sealing of these leaks, for example
"Furmanite" procedure?

Furmaniting is a temporary leak arresting method from small steam pipeline or flanges. Not suitable/possible for turbine
flanges.

Du you know is there any other successful method for temporary steam leak arresting of turbine flange?

Take decision fast. Leaking steam may cause wire drawing and damage the flanges. RepAir will be costlier and more difficult
then.

The scheduled shutdown is in June and will last 3 weeks. For this reason, we planned to do temporary arrest of the leak by
injecting the Furmanite sealing compound locally between flange surfaces. However, there is concern that this may also
increase steam leakage. We are really in doubt as to what to do.

RIRO - Did it work out?
If you didn't pump the furmanite, what are you going to do?
We have a similar leaking joint, and we are shy about using the furmanite. We are considering replacing the studs with Inconel
studs so we can apply additional torque.

No, we have not yet. Steam leakge does not increase. We hope it will remain stable until the planned shut-down of productiion
in June. Then it will be fixed properly (I hope so).
