Regular Verbs +ed Spelling

1. normally V+ed worked, visited, missed, watched, fixed

2. verbs ending in silent "e" +"d" danced, phoned, closed, died, loved

3. consonant+y - drop the y +ed cried, studied, fried, married, carried

4. vowel+y - keep the y+ed played, destroyed, enjoyed, stayed

5. CVC - last syllable, stressed - stopped, banned, preferred, hugged
