Question 2). Using the table above, identify a STRENGTH of the batsman.
Strength: The bats man took a step
Justify your answer by explaining the outcome of this strength. (How does this affect the
movement of the ball?).
Taking a step helps direct the speed and power through the bat and accurately hit the
ball with a good amount of speed and power. By stepping into the ball, you create
momentum from the bat and the build-up forces which culminate into the swing and
rotation of hips which will provide a good hit of the ball.
Question 3). Using the table above, identify an ERROR of the batsman.
Error: there was no backswing near the dominant shoulder
Justify your answer by explaining the outcome of this error? (How does this affect the
movement of the ball?).
Since there was no backswing the speed and power was not as strong. If a backswing
was applied there would be more speed and power when hitting the ball which would
make the ball travel a further distance.
Question 4). Provide a RECOMMENDATION to correct the movement sequence error.
Recommendation: Deeper hip rotation
Justify your answer by explaining the outcome of this recommendation? (How does this
affect the movement of the ball?).
Deeper hip rotation will result in more power in the swing of the bat and improve the hit
of the ball. When taking a step, the batter must rotate their hips which will create power
in the swing which will affect the ball as it will travel a further distance.
