1. WEATHER CONDITIONS
1.1. South-West Monsoon-2023: Major Agriculture in AP depends on South-West Monsoon. The
South West Monsoon set over in Kerala on 8th June, 2023 against the normal date of 1st June as
per IMD report .The Southwest monsoon has entered in some parts of Rayalaseema region in
Andhra Pradesh on 11th June, 2023 and in Coastal AP on 19th June, 2023. Light Rain likely
occur over Few places in Andhra Pradesh.

NORTH EAST MONSOON: The average rainfall received from 01.10.2023 to 08.11.2023 is recorded as 51.1 mm as
against the Normal as on date 212.4 mm showing Large Deficit by -75.9 per cent.
Overall, the average rainfall received in Andhra Pradesh from 1.6.2023 to 08.11.2023 is recorded as 538.3 mm as
against the Normal as on date of 787.1 mm showing by Deficit -31.6 percent.

2.WATER LEVELS IN MAJOR RESERVOIRS
All the Major reservoirs are holding 310.07 tmc as on 08-11-2023, by this time last year, the level had stood
at 781.60 tmc. The water levels in all major reservoirs as on 08-11-2023 are furnished hereunder.

III. CROP SOWINGS
Rabi 2023-24
The total area sown in the State is 1.93 lakh ha. (9%) as against the normal area of 22.38 lakh
ha., and normal as on date is 3.23 lakh ha. (60%).
Kharif crops like Paddy is at panicle initiation to harvesting stage. Jowar, Bajra & Ragi
crops are at harvesting stage. Maize is at grain hardening and harvesting stage. Green gram and
Black gram and Horsegram crops are at harvesting stage. Groundnut is at pod maturity to
harvesting stage. Redgram is at flowering stage to pod development stage. Cotton is 2nd picking
stage. Sugarcane is at cane development stage.
Rabi: The farmers are taking up the land preparation and Rabi Sowings are under progress in
the state.
