III. Conclusion (200-300 words)

Uncle Tom’s Cabin is an iconic novel of the 19th century, a literary representation of the struggles of
slavery and subsequent attempts to abolish it. The novel is a powerful commentary on the social and
political issues of the time, and it is seen as an important part of the anti-slavery movement. Through
this work, readers can see that slavery was more than just the abuse of free labor, but a consistent
degradation of one race by another, both physically and psychologically, as a result of ideology.
Moreover, the book gave President Lincoln more confidence to issue a decree abolishing slavery, the
greatest legacy he left behind during his time as president. The book’s influence then extended beyond
the United States, being adapted into plays and movies to help the public access it more easily. Until
now, Uncle Tom’s Cabin is still a timeless classic for readers.
