Subject: “Impact of PEC Laws on the Quality & the Cost of Construction” in
Pakistan

Construction is the vanguard of our national infrastructure. Its sectorial

share is 2.5% of the gross National Product. It is providing employment to
about 9 million people, which is about 9.5% of total employment.
Pakistan Academy of Engineering (PAE) is an Apex body of Engineering in
Pakistan which, is busy making efforts to improve construction engineering
works and it believes that the construction management companies play a
very important part in achieving required quality and in regulating the cost of
general construction and of the Infrastructure projects. Your ideas on this
subject will help us immensely in our studies.
In order to ascertain your views on various factors affecting the performance
of the constructors as well as your role as Construction Management
Company, a questionnaire has been designed. We earnestly request you to
spend some of your valuable time to respond to the questionnaire and
submit it back on line.
