Unit of Inquiry- 4

Who we are- Personal characteristic and traits shape leadership quality.

Students will be inquiring into:

 Types of Leadership (FORM)


 Characteristics of leadership (PERSPECTIVE)
 Ways to build leadership qualities (CASUATION)

Numeracy- Students will be inquiring into the concept of Currency, Division and fractions.

Literacy- In conjunction with the current unit, recount as a text type will be introduced along with ‘Sight
words’ related to the unit. Further, they will also inquire about classic and modern poetry.
Grammar concepts-
 Types of sentences
 Singular and Plural Nouns
Unit of Inquiry- 5

Sharing the Planet-People interact with, use and value the natural environment in different ways.
Students will be inquiring into:
 Local natural environment (Form)
 Human use of the local environment (responsibility)
 Actions that benefit or harm the local environment (Causation)

Numeracy- Students will be inquiring into the concept of Time, Temperature, Measurement and Division
(BASIC) .

Literacy- In conjunction with the current unit, ‘Discussion’ as a text type will be introduced along with ‘Sight
words’ related to the unit.
Grammar- Adverbs, Direct and Indirect Speech

HOW WE ORGANISE OURSELVES- Economic opportunities may define the communities where people live.
Lines of inquiry:
• Types of communities (Form)
• Businesses in different communities (Connection)
• My role in the community(Responsibilities)

Numeracy- Students will be inquiring into the concept of Angles, area & perimeters, coordinates,
probability and position.

Literacy- In conjunction with the current unit, ‘Procedure’ as a text type will be introduced along
with ‘Sight words’ related to the unit.
Grammar- Transitive and Intransitive verbs, Determiners (Definite, Indefinite, no articles),
Demonstratives.
Poems on common themes, Classic and Modern Poetry
