New scope and changes in V30.2302
§ The SAPIBP1 sample planning area has been enhanced as
follows:
§ New adjustment key figures for local and global demand
plan quantity
§ Unassign not required time attribute PERIODID from
multiple planning levels
§ The IBP for response and supply – transportation load
building scope item has been enhanced with interactive
planning of loads. It’s now possible to create, unload, or
delete loads and load items in the Planner Workspace.
Users can change the equipment type of a load and add
distribution receipts and manually entered product quantities
to loads.
§ The new scope item called IBP – supply chain risk
management contains an example of how the new analytics
stories embedded in SAP IBP can be used. The story used
in this scope item helps supply chain leads to analyze typical
supply chain risks and collaborate with planners to eliminate
them. Scores are used to illustrate risks that result from low
forecast accuracy, inaccurate safety stock levels, resource
bottlenecks, and excess CO2 emissions. We deliver the
scope item content through a presentation describing the
setup of the story pages and a video showing how supply
chain leads can work with the story.

v Attach the Tasks by Planner and To Do app

to a channel

v Different formats for presenting tasks:

calendar-based formats, lists, or groups

v Powerful features for tasks:

checklists (sub-tasks), attachments,
commenting

v Built-in analytics/charts on tasks

PUBLIC 20
Entities Within Microsoft Teams integration

Team / Group = a group of users

Plan = a container entity, representing a group of tasks worked on by members of one team

Bucket = a container entity, representing a sub-group of tasks within a plan

Task = an activity to be completed by a certain due date by the assigned team members

PUBLIC 21
How Does Integration of Tasks Between IBP and Microsoft Teams Works

v Within Microsoft Teams create the necessary teams.

Add the “Tasks by Planner and To Do” app to a Microsoft Teams channel.
Create necessary plans and buckets.

v Within the process template select for each step a team/plan/bucket triad as your collaboration
group. This will be the destination of your tasks for that particular step

Team – Plan – Bucket

PUBLIC 22
How Does Integration of Tasks Between IBP and Microsoft Teams Works

v IBP will automatically trigger a Microsoft login flow when a user opens one of the process
management apps

v IBP system regularly synchronizes process-related or standalone group tasks between IBP and MS
Teams:
Ø Whenever the user opens a process management apps to sync back from MS Teams updates related to
tasks
Ø Whenever a task is created / modified / deleted in IBP, upon save the changes are sent to MS Teams
Ø Whenever process automation is triggered

Excel team, plan and bucket
v Manage Tasks / Manage Processes apps v Tasks in the Microsoft Teams app Tasks by
Planner and To Do

PUBLIC 24
Characteristics When Using Process Management With Microsoft Teams

v In Microsoft Teams all tasks are group tasks.

v Within the Manage Process Templates app you

cannot create a team, plan or bucket for Microsoft
Teams

v Task created in Microsoft Teams after they are

synchronized back to IBP will always end up being
a standalone task.
Recommendation: use IBP as the leading system to create the
process-related task

PUBLIC 25
Switching Between Collaboration Tools
From “IBP-only” mode to Microsoft Teams:
1. Set the global configuration parameter: COLLABORATION_ENABLED to “true”.

2. Set the global configuration parameter: USED_COLLAB_TOOL to “MS Teams”.

3. Existing processes will remain live an work as before

4. Adjust your process templates that you want to migrate and add for each step the collaboration group with the
destination for your tasks: team / plan / bucket. Edit all your tasks and make them a group task.

From SAP Jam / SAP Build Work Zone to Microsoft Teams:

1. Change the global configuration parameter: USED_COLLAB_TOOL to “MS Teams” (from default value: Jam/WZ).

2. Existing collaboration enabled processes will become disabled, processes that were created without collaboration
will work as before

3. Adjust your Jam / Work Zone enabled process templates or copy them and edit them by maintaining for each step
the collaboration group with the destination for your tasks: team / plan / bucket.
Edit all your tasks and make them a group task.

Coverage Calculation at Request Level
Gabor Mittweg, SAP

PUBLIC
Coverage Calculation at Request Level

Using IBP 2302, you can perform request level calculation for Coverage calculations.
Business users don’t need to open specific planning view templates for specific aggregation levels in
case of coverage calculation.

In request level calculations, the inputs of the Coverage calculation are aggregated first, then the
Coverage calculation is executed.

DAYSOFSUPPLY@REQUEST = IBP_COVERAGE ( "DEMAND@REQUEST" ,

"PROJECTEDSTOCK@REQUEST", 7, ''NEXTBUCKET'', ''IGNOREZEROSTOCK'',
''PASTCURRENTFUTURE'')

Request level coverage calculations are somewhat slower than on a fixed planning level, but further
performance enhancement is planned to reduce the performance gap. No other modelling will be
required, the activation of the planning area will be sufficient.

PUBLIC 41
A New Suppressible Error
Gabor Mittweg, SAP

PUBLIC
A New Suppressible Error

The following warning has turned into a suppressible error:

*S* Calculation &1@&2: Some input-output attribute pairs are lost.

In non-aggregation calculations each attribute of the input planning levels must have a parallel pair
attribute on the output planning level.

An input attribute may be assigned as a value to another attribute during attribute transformation, for
example PRDFR = PRDID. In this case, the new attribute, in our example the PRDFR, will replace the
old attribute and so must appear on the output planning level, even though it was not part of the input
planning levels originally. At the same time, the PRDID can be omitted from the output.

Procedure

Check the attributes on the input and output planning levels and make sure that all the attributes on the
input planning levels have a parallel attribute pair on the output planning level. Take special care of
attributes that were transformed during attribute transformation.
PUBLIC 43
Limited Scope Activation at Activation in Background Jobs

You can now schedule activation in limited scope as a background job.

PUBLIC 44
Window-Based Aggregation
Gabor Mittweg, SAP

PUBLIC
Window-Based Aggregation

Based on a Customer Influence Request: https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/248509

With the window-based aggregation (IBP_WBAGGR) function, you can now perform cumulative
aggregation on data grouped and sorted according to chosen attributes, not only across time periods.
For example, using this function you can improve your production capacity planning by creating a
prioritized list of products for each location.

Within the window-based aggregation (IBP_WBAGGR) function, use

the IBP_GROUP_BY embedded function to segment the input data set to create groups or windows.
The attributes you choose as parameters for the function will segment the data. Every time the value
of the attribute changes, a new window opens and the aggregation restarts.
Then, within the windows, use the IBP_SORT_BY function to sort, or subgroup the data based on
attributes that you define and also put them into ascending or descending order.
The aggregation takes place within the windows on the sorted and ordered data set.
You can use the following types of aggregation: MIN, MAX, SUM, AVG, STDDEV, and COUNT.

PUBLIC 46
Examples

IBP_WBAGGR ("FORECAST@MTHPRODLOC",''SUM'', IBP_GROUP_BY("PERIODID2", "LOCID",

"PRDCATEGORY"), IBP_SORT_BY("PERIODID0",''ASC'',"PRDFAMILY",''DESC'',"PRDID",''ASC'',
"CUSTID",''ASC''))

Integrating Telemetry: OData Service

• Telemetry data is generated whenever a

user takes a relevant action in the system

• Provides insight on which features are most

popular, or whether a new feature is being
used by the right audience

• ‘Planning – Telemetry Data Integration

(SAP_COM_0924)’ allows you to use an
external REST client to read the data

• In 2302, the following entities are supported:

• Overview of the usage of the SAP IBP system
on a component level
• SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel, such as
logins, planning views, opening a template,
opening a favorite, etc.

PUBLIC 51
Propagation of Permission Filters to Compound Master Data Types

• Currently, when a Permission Filter is set

on a Product attribute, e.g. Brand: User
data is limited to a certain Brand of
Products in Planning Views. However in
the Location Product compound, the user
will have access to all LocationProducts
from all Brands

• Enable the propagation of permission filter

conditions from component to compound
master data types via the Global
Configuration app
• Set PERMFILTER_SIMPLE_TO_COMPOUND
to YES

PUBLIC 52
Example

You have a
permission filter with
the filter criteria for
read access
definition as follows:

Brand = BRND100
and
Location Type = SUPPLIER

PUBLIC 53
Enhancements to Job Scheduling

• A cancellation request for a

data integration application job
is now sent to the SAP Cloud
Integration for data services
(CI-DS)

• The External Scheduler -

Application Job Administration
Integration (SAP_COM_0326)
now allows a communication
user to cancel any application
job under any business user

PUBLIC 54
How to Make Mass Changes to Business Users and Business Roles

You can use the mass change wizard to

• Apply the same business role or

validity period to more than one
business user

• Apply business catalog assignment

or business user assignment to
business roles
