GENERAL
Please note for the first re-greasing that the lubrication pipes are still empty and have to be filled. Therefore the first re-grease needs approx. twice the
NOTE! amount of the below said.
Check at outlet of lubrication pipe of gearbox (lubrication of lower bearing) if grease is coming out. The lubrication pipe is approx. half a meter long and
requires an amount of grease to get filled first before any grease is pressed into the bearing.
Corresponding to the design of electric motors those are usually equipped with grease chambers at the external bearing cap where the used grease is
NOTE! collected. After approx. five times re-greasing the old grease should be removed, e.g. as part of inspection (see manufacturer instructions).
In case motors are equipped with grease outlet nipples those have to be opened during re-greasing to allow the used grease to discharge. Collect the
discharged grease and dispose in accordance with environment regulations. Clean the nipple thoroughly and close it (see manufacturer instructions).
All manual operated valves to be greased acc. to application and manufacturer instructions. Generally the shaft has to be cleaned by a mild solvent and
NOTE! to be greased every year.
Valves operating at higher temperatures have to be greased with temperature constant grease. In all matters refer to the manufacturer instructions given
in the respective operation and maintenance manual.
In case exposed to DUST or SAND ATMOSPHERE shafts normally have to be cleaned but NOT GREASED.
Greasing intervals are given for bearing temperatures in general up to 80 °C. At each 10 K higher temperatures the interval has to be halved, i.e. at 80 to
NOTE! 90 °C the re-greasing interval is halved, at 90 to 100 °C the interval is a quarter.
Data given for oil lubricated bearings normally are valid for temperatures up to 70 °C. For higher temperatures the above for greased bearings is used,
i.e. at 70 to 80 °C the interval is halved, at 80 to 90 °C the interval is a quarter.
Follow instructions given by the manufacturer.

(1) The change of SYNTHETIC OIL depends on the oil operation temperature, see manufacturer’s instructions. In general synthetic PAO oil has to be
NOTE! changed every 16000 operating hours or latest every 3 years in case the oil bath temperature is not exceeding 80 °C. With oil bath temperatures up
to 95 °C the time is reduced to about 10000 operating hours. The same is applicable in dusty and humid atmosphere. This is valid only in case oil
samples are taken on regular terms (at least every 4000 operating hours or after 6 months) and oil sample analysis presents sufficient lifetime of oil.
Maximum allowed water content is below 0.05% or 500 ppm, see manufacturer’s instructions. This must be acknowledged in detail by the laboratory
carrying out the analysis. In case oil sample shows not sufficient quality the oil has to be exchanged.
Manufacturer instructions strictly have to be followed.
Hour means operating hour. Refer to manufacturer instructions given in the operating and maintenance manual and/or to name/lubrication instruction plate fixed on the component.
