SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY

RECESS TERM (MATLAB MATLAB PROJECT)

PURPOSE:

To investigate the effects of different loads (inductive, resistive and capacitive) load on
voltage and current using DC and AC source.

REQUIRED BLOCKS

1) DC voltage source (100v

2) Current measurement
3) Resistive load (10Ω)
4) Inductive load (500mH)
5) Capacitive load (150uF)
6) Voltage Measurement (03)
7) Display (04)
8) Oscilloscope (03)
Pre-Lab:

Students should possess the knowledge of;

 Electric circuit theory

 Single phase power systems

Procedure:

01. Construct your circuit according to the circuit diagram above.

02. (i) Run and record the overall current and voltage across each load.

(ii) Give a brief explanation of your observation in the values of voltages and
current. Include a screen short of the displayed values and the scopes.

Replace the dc source with AC voltage source. Set it to 220Vrms, phase angle of
120 degrees and frequency of 50Hz.

Run the circuit and observed the observed values.
