8. Detailed description

8.1 Reset button location

The reset button is located below the EIF1 interface. A tool may be needed to reach the
button.

Figure 1: Location of the reset button

8.2 Reset button options

8.2.1 Quick press (< 1 sec)

The reset button is pressed and promptly released. FSMF performs a hard restart with full
boot sequence. LEDs blink, the fan rotation is paused shortly and the module boots up
again. Configuration data is not cleared.

TS-BTS-HW-0165: Instructions to use FSMF reset button

8.2.2 Long press (> 10 sec)

The reset button is pressed, held for 10 seconds and released. FSMF performs a soft restart
with partial boot sequence. FSMF LEDs do not blink at all and the fans continue rotating. The
configuration data is cleared upon the next hard restart and the FSMF is ready to be
reconfigured. For more information, see chapter 6 FSMF reconfiguration FSMF
reconfiguration.

8.3 When to use the reset button

8.3.1 To remove configuration data

The incorrect or corrupted configuration data may cause FSMF to constantly restart (reset
loop). The reset button can be used to recover the FSMF by clearing the configuration files
(Long press – soft restart, followed by Short press – hard restart).

Note:

Commissioning data is cleared on the passive partition as well.

8.3.2 To remove system module role

When FSMF is extracted from the existing site and added as an extension module to another
BTS, configuration reset is required. Configuration reset deletes the existing configuration
data and clears the System Module role. If the extracted FSMF is to be used as the master,
then configuration reset is not required.

Note:

Please, disconnect Ethernet cable from LMP port in the extension system module
connected to the master system module. The connected Ethernet cable may prevent
the extension module role from being assumed.

The changed local account settings (such as “Nemuadmin”) are reverted to the factory
defaults with Long press of the reset button.

Note:

BTS service account settings (toor4nsn) are not changed by the reset procedure.

8.4 Restrictions
The reset button functionality does not work in FL16A / FL17SP and FL17A.

The correction is delivered in:
