Cagayan De Oro
Cagayan de Oro, officially the City of Cagayan de Oro, is a 1st class highly
urbanized city in the region of Northern Mindanao, Philippines. It is the capital of the
province of Misamis Oriental where it is geographically situated but governed
administratively independent from the provincial government.
Cagayan de Oro is famous not only for its white rapids but also for its people.
Cagayan de Oro may very well be the happiest place in the country. The “City of Golden
Friendship,” as it is sometimes called, is home to especially friendly and warm Filipinos.
The province has the largest marine fishing grounds and 73 percent of the
region's potential fishpond area. Known as the spelunkers', trekkers' and gamefishers'
paradise rolled in one, Cagayan provides a never-ending adventure. The province is
now being promoted as an adventure and eco-tourism destination.
The name Cagayan de Oro (lit. River of Gold)[14]can be traced back to the arrival
of the Spanish Augustinian Recollect friars in 1622, the area around Himologan (now
Huluga), was already known as "Cagayán". Early Spanish written documents in the 16th
century already referred to the place as "Cagayán".

Laguna State Polytechnic University
Province of Laguna
One of the oldest parks in Cagayan de Oro City is Vicente de Lara Park. It is
used to be named as MacArthur Park in honor of General Douglas MacArthur, the
legendary American general in World War II who spent a considerable time of his
military service in the Philippines. The renaming of the park is a fitting tribute to the late
Honorable Vicente de Lara who served as governor of the province from 1954 to 1961.
During that time Cagayan de Oro City was administratively and politically a part of
Misamis Oriental.
Macahambus Adventure Park is a natural park where visitors can see the
spectacular Macahambus Gorge, take a walk across the Sky Bridge that is elevated
some 120 feet off the ground, take a slide ride through the undergrowth and walk
through ancient forests.
High Ridge Restaurant is an al fresco restaurant boasting the best stunning view
in Cagayan De Oro City. Located on the hilltop of Aluba, Upper Macasandig, visitors to
this serene and tranquil location are sure to have a memorable time with family and
friends, or even enjoy a special dinner while admiring the stunning cityscape.

delicacies from different places, mostly in the Mindanao, were displayed and sold
inside the store, now popularly known as Cheding’s Peanuts.
DAY 4
LOCAL cuisine takes center stage at the Misto restaurant of the Seda Centrio
hotel, as it offers a variety of familiar and delectable dishes for its buffet this month.
