New Cordian Communicators’ Welcoming Rites

By: Anjaneth R. Aco

Along with the continued easing of restrictions in schools is the implementation of various programs for students to
prepare for the upcoming Face-to-Face classes using online platforms.

Last August 8, 2022 it was done by AB Communication students of Sacred Heart College of Lucena City, Inc. the
orientation for new students who wish to become future Communicators.

Led by Mikhail Barcelona and Alyssa De Ramos, the program started with an opening prayer and a welcome remark
from the current COLA President, Ayessa Natividad. She emphasized the significance of team work in the
organization as she looks forward to a successful activities and projects despite the shortage in number compared to
other courses.

The program progressed well where there were a few games for the students. Faculty officers were also introduced
to the said organization under the leadership of Mr. Earl Gicana, AB Communication Faculty and Promotional and
Public Relation Officer.

A short, simple, yet meaningful message was also given by Dr. Maria Zorayda Torres as she mentioned how AB
Communication degree can help the students in achieving their goal by paving the way and guiding every student to
enjoy the essence of learning in SHC particularly in their chosen field.

As the program ended, Justine Escote, the Vice-President of COLA took the opportunity to thank everyone who
attended the said activity and for actively participating in it.
Cordian’s New Favorite Radio Program
Radyo Kordeano on Air!
By: Anjaneth R. Aco

IT’S A WRAP! Finally, the newest program that every Kordeano loves is now on air as the College of Liberal Arts-
AB Communication introduced the new exciting program – Radyo Kordeano.

In its Pilot episode, the first DJ Commate Aye was introduced where she emphasized the importance of rewarding or
acknowledging your hard work.

Radyo Kordeano aims to give motivation to the students, especially to those who are having a hard time in their
studies and for those who lost their passion to continue doing and loving it. More than that, the radio program’s goal
is to create an avenue that will allow the AB Communication students to develop and learn the skills needed as a
Communicator.

The program was an idea proposed by Ayessa Natividad and Loi Angelu Paderes, 4 th year ABCOMM students as
they have proclaimed that they have experienced the struggle of being a student full of workloads and how it is
exhausting and draining that a program like Radyo Kordeano can somehow bring back their passion and be
motivated to keep going.

“It was a fun and also a challenging experience for me. To be honest, I am one of those Communication students
who are not fond of speaking publicly, I am more into writing or be a person behind the act. Being a DJ Commate
for one day made me overcome my doubts in myself because I’ve come to the realization that even how insecure I
am my voice, I can see my potential to be a DJ someday so we’ll see”, said Commate Aye when asked regarding her
experience as a DJ Commate.

Academic pressure has been one of the problems being encountered by the students and sadly, it sometimes
damages the students’ wellbeing.

As the program continues, more than anything, the Cordian Communication Society hope not only for the success of
each episode but also to be the voices of every student and help them to overcome the pressure of being student and
motivate them every week to keep striving and reach the dreams they have.
