A Proposal for a Documentary

From farm to fridge: A Yeo Valley story

PROPOSAL

Short Summary: A documentary following the process of dairy production from farm to
factory to fridge, specifically Yeo Valley and their sourcing and production techniques. We’ll
go from farms to the actual production of yoghurt and finally the shops that sell them.

USP: Exclusive factory and farm insight into the world of dairy production making it
intriguing to the public. By choosing Yeo Valley we use a familiar and recognisable brand to
hook people in and to appeal to their curiosity

Purpose: To provide a closer look into the production of yoghurt through a documentary
style. It will have a focus on being informational.

Viewpoint: An outside look into a relatively unknown facet of food production.

Crew: Eddie- Presenter, Cam- Camera operator, Seth- Sound technician, Ciaran- Editor

Cast and Contributors: Yeo Valley, Dave Snook- Distribution manager, Farmer, Factory
workers, Warehouse workers, Members of the public (yoghurt opinions)

Locations: Yeo valley factory, Farm, TESCO

Target audience: 25-40yr olds, people who eat more yoghurt and would be curious about
where it comes from aswell as other dairy products.

Equipment and Resources: Z90 camera, tripod, gun mic, recorder, personal mics (possibly)

Platform it would be shown on: BBC iPlayer
