elections to Parliament
(Lok Sabha), as the
strength of Bharatiya Jana­
ta Party (BJP) and Congress
would diminish, BRS presi­
dent and Chief Minister K.
Chandrasekhar Rao said
while addressing an elec­
tion rally in Nizamabad on
Wednesday.
He alleged that the two
national parties were prac­
tising the politics of ven­
detta in the matter of deve­
lopment by denying
programmes, schemes and
institutions. Citing the ex­
ample of Telangana, he
stated that the BJP govern­
ment at the Centre had not
given even one medical
college to the State out of
157 sanctioned to States
from 2014. Also, it had also
not given even one Navo­
daya School to Telangana
although the Act clearly
specifies that every district
be given one such school.

port BRS not only in the

so in Lok Sabha elections

vember 17. He will address
street­corner meetings and
roadshows in five consti­
tuencies on a single day.
Mr. Gandhi will land in
Hyderabad on Friday
morning and leave for
campaigning in Pinapaka,
Narsampet, Warangal East,
Warangal West and Rajen­
dra Nagar constituencies.
He will begin with a road­
show and street­corner
meeting in Pinapaka and
then move to Narsampet to
address similar meetings.
He will then take up a pa­
dayatra in the neighbour­
ing Warangal East and Wa­
rangal West.

to withdraw from the race,

mesh Reddy, an aspirant
from Suryapet constituen­
cy, who was denied ticket
in favour of former Minis­
ter Ramreddy Damodar

dence to convince him.
They were welcomed by
the slogan­raising suppor­
ters of Mr. Reddy while the
family members too ques­

ers made Mr. Reddy speak
to AICC General Secretary
(Organisation) K.C. Venu­
gopal, who apparently as­
sured him that he would be
given the Nalgonda Parlia­
ment ticket in 2024.

Mr. Ramesh Reddy said he
felt humiliated as he had
sacrificed his seat in 2018
elections too. “The party
assured me that I would be
given Nalgonda Parliament
ticket. So I have decided to
withdraw from the race
and work for the Congress
candidate,” he said.

same kind of administra­
tion, and so people are
looking towards the saffron
party, he said.
The Minister also ac­
cused the police of threa­
tening Independent candi­
dates who had filed
nominations against Chief
Minister K. Chandrasekhar
Rao to make them with­
draw. “Both KCR and his
son K.T. Rama Rao are go­
ing to lose, so they are run­
ning scared,” he said on
Wednesday.
Earlier, Mr. Reddy had
condemned the attack on
Nalgonda district presi­
dent K. Sridhar Reddy al­
legedly by BRS activists.
Mr. Sridhar Reddy was
shifted to RIMS in Nalgon­
da for treatment.
The State BJP chief
spoke with Mr. Sridhar
Reddy over the phone and
inquired about the attack
and his health.
CM’s ‘remarks’

A writ petition has been
filed in the Telangana High
Court seeking instructions
to the ECI and CEO of Te­
langana to initiate action
against BRS president and
CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao
for his “remarks against
Congress workers and
leaders” during his elec­
tion campaign meeting in
Banswada on October 30.
The plea, likely to come
up for hearing in a day or
two, was filed by NSUI
chief Balmoori Venkat
Narsing Rao. He said these
were in violation of provi­
sions of the Representation
of People Act 1951 and in­
structions by the ECI. Ac­
cording to him, the CM
said that “his party work­
ers too, can catch hold of
knives for stabbing and
create havoc in the State”.
