Part 1.
A. Please prepare these items before starting the activity
⚫ Normal Size Rubber Balloon (the same color is recommended), Quantity: number of
participants (or family member who can do this activity together) x 2.
It is recommended to do this activity with more than 4~5 people
⚫ Small size memo paper, any size (3~5cm x 5~10cm) fittable for writing the name of
participants, Quantity: number of participants x 2
E. Start stopwatch, all participants begin finding the balloon with his/her name.
F. When all participants finish finding the correct balloon of their choice (no matter the
balloon that a participant picked up is really his/hers or not), check if the name in the
balloon is his/hers by popping the balloon.
G. When everyone finishes checking the names of the paper, stop the stopwatch.
H. Record the number of persons who found the correct balloon and the total time taken
to finish this activity. /3

B. Start stopwatch, all participants begin picking up any one balloon each.
C. Pop the balloon and check the name on the paper and give the paper to right person
⚫ If you don’t know who is the person of the name that you have, call the name.
When the person come to you, give the name paper to the right person.
D. Stop the stopwatch when everyone takes their own name paper.
E. Record the number of persons who found the correct balloon and the total time taken

⚫ Explain your observation about most important things (at least two) by comparing
⚫ Try to find out lessons that we can learn from this activity as a student who study
Environmental Sciences. Relate this activity to Environmental Issue. [ /2]
What I learned from this experiment was that rather than throwing someone else’s
balloon back on the floor, I helped the participant by handing it to them. How I relate
this activity to environmental issues is that by providing a helping hand to others,
problem solving can be easier and more efficient.

Students who do this activity at home, please take photos while you do and add
two of them here as an evidence. (For example, one of showing the balloons,
papers before activity and one with your family member holding popped balloons
and name papers etc.). Students who attend class physically do not need to add
photos here.
