1. Planning
a. Which deployment options are possible for SAP Global Trade Services, edition for SAP HANA?
You can continue to use SAP GTS as a hub in a separate system.
As of SAP Global Trade Services, edition for SAP HANA 2023, co-deployment together with SAP
S/4HANA 2022 or higher is possible. With this deployment option, the SAP GTS system must be
installed in a separate client, and master data distribution is still required.

b. Is it possible to convert from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA with SAP GTS 11.0 installed?
Yes, you can convert an SAP GTS 11.0 installation that is installed with SAP ERP on the same
system together with the conversion from SAP ERP to SAP S/4HANA. You must then plan and
execute the conversion in the maintenance planner in one transaction, that is, in exactly one
STACK.XML.

c. Can I directly upgrade to SAP Global Trade Services, edition for SAP HANA 2023?
Yes, a merged upgrade from SAP GTS 11.0 to SAP Global Trade Services, edition for SAP HANA
2023 is possible.

database migration option (DMO). However, you can also perform the database migration in
advance for SAP GTS 11.0 (hub deployment). This requires SAP NetWeaver Version 740 or 750.

d. What is the impact on custom source code?


The conversion to SAP Global Trade Services, edition for SAP HANA results in significant

e. Which technical tools are available that help me update my custom source code?
Retired ABAP Dictionary objects are assigned to the development package
/SAPSLL/DEPRECATED. Activate the ABAP Test Cockpit check (ATC) to check your custom
source code against unauthorized use of objects of the package /SAPSLL/DEPRECATED. The
Conversion Guide on SAP Help Portal provides information about whether you need to replace a
retired table and, if so, by which table(s).
First activate the package check as described in SAP Note 648898 (/sap/support/notes/648898).
Call transaction SM30 for the maintenance view PAKPARAM_V. Assign the value RESTRICTED to
the parameter GLOBAL_SWITCH. Then activate the package check in the Code Inspector (CI).
Call transaction SCI and select a check variant, for example, DEFAULT. Then, in the "Syntax
Check/Generation" section, activate the package check.
