Richmon E. Villamin completed an individual activity on patient education for their NCM 101 class. The summary discusses how patient education is an important part of a nurse's role, as it empowers patients to take ownership of their health by providing comprehensive and up-to-date information to build trust between nurses and patients. The student also notes that nursing involves more than just medicines and treatments, and that nurses inform, educate, and prevent diseases by advising patients on disease prevention and treatment.

In my own understanding, patient education is an important aspect of a nurse's career, as patient is
encouraged and empowered to improve health through education. Providing comprehensive and up- to-date information to patients builds trust, strengthens the relationship between caregivers and, and encourages patients to take ownership of their health care. I also noticed that nursing includes more than medicines and treatments. As nurses, we inform customers / patients, provide knowledge about the prevention and treatment of medical diseases, and preventive for patients to treat their diseases and their own diseases. You are responsible for getting to know about the measures as long as it is still manageable and the patient has sufficient information and knowledge to make more guided and informed medical decisions.
