Welcome to the Family!
Cracker Barrel’s image is that of a country general store, from the
porches with rocking chairs to the decorative fixtures on the inside.
Our Guests expect the dress and appearance of our Employees to
be consistent with this image. Therefore:
You must be in proper dress at all times.
Clothing must always be neat, crisp, and clean.
Here are our dress code requirements. Understand that your

managers have final say on whether you are dressed properly
and may impose additional guidelines.
New Employees
Welcome!
You have joined a special group of people called the
Cracker Barrel family, and we are so glad you’re here.
Please familiarize yourself with the dress code for your
position in the following pages.
Our expectation is that you will begin adhering to the
dress code once you are engaging with Guests or are
training in your position.
If you don’t have a collared shirt in one of the dress
code colors by the first day of orientation, don’t
worry, just do your best – even a clean, solid-colored
t-shirt will do until you begin engaging with Guests,
going out on the floor, or starting in your new
position. If you have concerns about your ability to do
this, please contact your ETC. We will find a way to
help you feel your best as you start your new job.

Aprons
The most important part of the Front of House uniform is a clean, crisp apron. Dirty aprons are
unacceptable and will not be permitted on the floor. Not only are they unsanitary, but they can affect
your tips, as your apron is in the direct line of sight of seated Guests.
Rising Star PAR 1 PAR 2, 3, 4

GUIDELINES
9 Hair must be worn or styled so it does not fall in food (when
turning head from side to side, hair may not cross shoulders).
9 Hair must be neatly combed and not distracting.
9 If hair touches the top of shoulders, it must be pulled back off
the shoulders.
9 Long hair should be up in a ponytail. Further restraints
(braids, etc.) may be necessary for thicker hair.
9 Hair restraints (i.e. clasps, barrettes) must be understated
and consistent with Cracker Barrel’s traditional appearance.

GUIDELINES
9 Makeup must be natural and understated.
9 Bracelets and visible body piercings, including facial piercings, are not allowed. Tongue piercings are permitted
unless they interfere with your ability to communicate clearly with Guests.
9 Medical information jewelry may be worn on a chain around the neck and must be tucked inside the shirt.
9 One necklace may be worn on the inside of shirt or blouse.
9 One ring per hand may be worn (wedding sets worn on one finger count as one ring).
9 Watches are allowed.
9 Earrings may be worn but must match. No dangling earrings are allowed. Earrings must be no larger than 1/2 inch
in size (size of a dime). Gauges/plugs should be no bigger than 10mm or 00G or 3/8 inch.
Nails & Tattoos (All PAR Levels)
NAILS
9 Fingernails must be neatly trimmed to a length of 1/8 of an inch past the fingertip and filed to avoid rough edges that
are difficult to clean.
9 Professionally applied acrylic nails can be worn as long as they are kept in good condition and do not exceed the
length requirements, unless prohibited by local jurisdiction.
9 Only clear polish or French Manicure can be worn.
9 Colored polish is not permitted.
Tattoos:
9 We want Guests to be focused on you, not your body art. Tattoos should not be on your face or throat.
9 If you aren’t allowed to say it out loud, then your tattoos shouldn’t say it either. Profane, lewd, hateful or obscene
tattoos are not permitted.
9 Covering a tattoo with a Band-Aid is not permissible.
Shorts Front of House | Curbside/Front Porch (All PAR Levels)

Shorts may be worn Memorial Day through Labor Day.

GUIDELINES
During holidays, Curbside/Front Porch employees may be designated
as Parking Lot Greeters. In these cases, all Parking Lot Greeters must
wear identifiable reflective gear, which will be provided to each store.
Additionally, there may be times of the year in which stores receive
heavy winter jackets and/or rain ponchos for Curbside/Front Porch
employees to wear.

with your name and stars embroidered.
