LESSON PLAN FORMAT

ENSEÑANZA DE HABILIDADES I

TARGET AUDIENCE/CONTEXT: 3rd high school


LEARNER LEVEL: A2.
CLASS LENGTH: 15 students.
AGE: 15-17 years old.

OBJECTIVE: Students will be able to express opinions and argue points of view about music in
English effectively.
MATERIALS: Whiteboard or projection screen, Markers and erasers, Printed discussion topic
cards related to music, Worksheets with exercises, Music player, Projector or online resources
TIME & MATERIALS WARM-UP
The teacher will start the class by playing a short sample of a song in
10 minutes English. Ask students to listen and then share their opinions about the
song, such as what they like or dislike, musical style, etc.
Encourage a group discussion by asking, "What kind of music do they
prefer and why?"
PRE-TASK (BEFORE)
Presentation
15 minutes. The teacher introduces the main topic: "The influence of music on
culture and society". Provide brief information about how music affects
individuals and society in general.

The teacher then divides the students into pairs or small groups and
gives each group a printed card with a music-related topic, such as "The
Impact of Music on Fashion" or "The Evolution of Music Over the
Decades." Ask the groups to discuss the topic and prepare arguments
to present to the class.
MAIN TASK (WHILE)
Practice (audio)
10 minutes. Each group of students presents their topic to the class and defends
their arguments. In addition, the teacher encourages the participation
of all group members and the active use of English.

After each presentation, encourage debate and discussion among the


groups by encouraging students to ask questions and respond in
English.
To make it more interactive, you can ask students to share examples of
songs that exemplify their topic.
POST-TASK (AFTER)
The teacher will give them a sheet containing a genre of music and they
20 minutes. with a partner will discuss a related song and whether they like it or
not.
Review the answers and give feedback to students.
CLOSURE (EXTRA CLASS WORK)
The teacher asks students to research a specific artist or genre of music
5 minutes. and prepare a short presentation in English.
The teacher provides additional resources, such as music videos, song
lyrics, or articles about music, for students to deepen their knowledge.
