INTRUDUCTION

1. The research question : The impact of temperature extremes on plant growth and development,
particularly during the sensitive phenological stage of pollination.

2. The importance of study : To understanding the effects of temperature extremes on plant growth
and development, as it has significant implications for crop production and food security.

3. Begin with a topic sentence : The impact of temperature extremes on plant growth and
development, particularly during the sensitive phenological stage of pollination, and emphasizes the
need for effective adaptation strategies to mitigate the impacts of temperature extremes associated
with a changing climate.

4. Brief Sumarry of the issue or public health problem : the potential effects of climate change on
plant productivity and the need for adaptation strategies to cope with temperature extremes during
the sensitive phenological stage of pollination.

METHODS

1. Type of study design : The study design involved the use of controlled environment chambers
that allowed for the control of light intensity, daylength, air temperature, and relative humidity
through a computer-controlled system programmed to replicate the average weekly temperatures
and daylength for Ames.

2. Data Sources : The study used the 30-year normal temperatures and the weekly precipitation
amounts to simulate these averages.

3. Describes Analysis : Regarding the analysis methods, the PDF file states that in experiment 1, T-
tests between the treatments were used to evaluate the treatment differences, which was adequate
for this experiment,.

4. Statistical Test : We observe 90% NH3 decomposition efficiency at 500 °C using NaNH2,
relative to 82% and 58% conversion at this temperature using the ruthenium and nickel catalysts,
respectively. Under the conditions of these experiments, the supported nickel catalyst offers only
marginal improvement over the performance of the blank steel reactor. This is consistent with the
use of nickel generally being confined to high-temperature.

RESULT

1.Results of analysis: The highest measured H2 production rate (at 550 °C) is 475 sccm,
corresponding to 63.3% conversion efficiency of a 500 sccm NH3 flow. The conversion rates for
the Ni wool alone were only marginally better than the rates observed for the blank reactor,
indicating that the wool plays an effective containment role but has little catalytic effect at these
temperatures.

DISCUSSION

1.Summary: In summary, we have shown that sodium amide is an effective ammonia decomposition
catalyst that involves the stoichiometric decomposition and formation of NaNH2 from Na metal.
This approach is a departure from traditional transition metal catalysis and opens up a new class of
amide-based materials for the delivery of hydrogen from ammonia for use in sustainable

2. Compare Findings with previous literature : In this study, what was compared was the method
used to produce nitrogen and/or oxygen from ammonia.

3. Recommendation for further study: For future research that examines ammonia as an alternative
producer of hydrogen and nitrogen, the method used must be more efficient than that used in this
research and the resulting pollution must be lower.

4. Conclusion : These calculations indicate that ammonia-based transportation is achievable. While

advances in the containment and turnover frequency of the amide are necessary steps toward this
goal, we anticipate that significant improvements in these areas will be realized through the
optimization of the reactor design and materials properties of NaNH2.
