Common mistakes in IELTS Listening

1. Many examinees start to watch the questions when they receive the question paper. But

you cannot do this. Your examiner will say when you are allowed to watch the questions.

2. Must be careful about the fact that the speaker is speaking the answer of the same question

for what you are listeing to the audio, not the answer of the next question.

3. The most common mistake of transfering the answers in the answer sheets is the lose of

sequence.

4. In case of peoples' names, institutions' names, the firstly spoken words may not be the

correct answers.

5. Another important mistake is the examinee does not write what he or she has listened, then

the speaker changes the context he or she cannot recollect the previously heard topic.

6. Be careful about the pronunciation of the words "thirteen", "thirty", "fourteen", "forty", etc.

7. Three or more speakers speak in the section three at a time, so the recognition of individual

speaker's voice is important in section three of the ielts listening test.
