Project Proposal: Establishing a Children's Corner at the One-Stop Center for Women

Survivors of Violence

1. Executive Summary:

We are seeking funding to establish a Children's Corner within our one-stop center, which offers
critical counseling and support services to women who have experienced violence, abuse, and
trauma. This dedicated space will provide a safe, nurturing, and age-appropriate environment for
children while their mothers receive counseling and assistance.

2. Project Background:

Our one-stop center has been serving as a lifeline for women survivors of violence, offering
counseling, legal support, and resources to help them rebuild their lives. However, we recognize
the need to address the presence of children who accompany their mothers to these sessions. Often,
children's exposure to discussions about violence can be traumatic and inappropriate. Creating a
Children's Corner will mitigate this issue.

3. Objectives:

 To provide a secure and supportive environment for children whose mothers are accessing
counseling services.
 To ensure that children are engaged in age-appropriate activities, fostering their emotional
and social development.
 To enable mothers to attend counseling sessions without concerns about their children's
well-being.

4. Proposed Activities:

 Renovation and Furnishing: We will transform an existing space within the center to
create a child-friendly waiting area, complete with age-appropriate furniture, toys, books,
and educational materials.
 Childcare Staff: Trained caregivers will be employed to supervise and engage with the
children, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being.
 Activity Programs: We will develop structured programs and activities to keep the
children occupied and stimulated, including arts and crafts, storytelling, and educational
games.

5. Budget:
 Renovation and Furnishing: $10,000
 Staffing (Salary and Training): $15,000
 Supplies and Educational Materials: $5,000
 Program Development: $3,000
 Administrative Costs: $2,000
 Total Budget Required: $35,000

6. Expected Outcomes:

 Women can attend counseling sessions with reduced stress, knowing their children are in a
safe environment.
 Children will benefit from educational and recreational activities, potentially reducing the
trauma they experience.
 Improved overall effectiveness of counseling services.

7. Timeline:

 Renovation and setup: 3 months

 Staff recruitment and training: 1 month
 Program development: Ongoing
 Launch of Children's Corner: 4 months from funding approval

8. Monitoring and Evaluation:

We will establish a monitoring system to track the number of children utilizing the space, their
participation in activities, and gather feedback from mothers and caregivers to continuously
improve the Children's Corner.

9. Conclusion:

By supporting this project, you will make a meaningful contribution to the well-being of women
survivors of violence and their children. The Children's Corner will not only offer a safe haven for
children but also enhance the effectiveness of counseling services, fostering the healing process for
families affected by violence.

We kindly request funding in the amount of $35,000 to realize this project. Your partnership will
empower us to create a more compassionate and comprehensive support system for those in need.

Thank you for considering our proposal. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss this project
further and explore how we can work together to make a positive impact on the lives of women
and children in our community.

Sincerely,
